Privacy Policy

Updated 1 June 2026 · DPDP Act, 2023 compliant

Who we are

Redrob AI is the data fiduciary for the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. It applies whenever you use the Redrob app or website.

What we collect

We collect your profile (name, email, phone), your resume and its content, your job preferences, your Redrob Score and the signals behind it, and the outreach you send and receive through us. We also collect basic usage and device information needed to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

We use your data to rank jobs for you, tailor your resume, send outreach you approve, build and explain your Redrob Score, coach you toward better outcomes, and keep the platform safe. We do not use your data for unrelated advertising.

Your consent & legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and to provide the service you ask for, as required by the DPDP Act, 2023. Your consent is specific, informed, and freely given, and you can withdraw it at any time from Settings - though some features may stop working once you do.

Gmail & Calendar

If you connect Google, we use limited access only for what you authorise: sending the emails you approve, reading replies on the threads we started so we can track conversations, and reading your calendar's free/busy times to propose interview slots. We never read your other mail or your event details, and we never sell or transfer this data.

AI & automated processing

Our coach and agent use AI to rank roles, suggest resume edits, and draft outreach. These features run on your data to help you; we don't sell your personal data or use it to train models for unrelated third parties. You stay in control - the agent escalates decisions like money and offers to you.

Who we share with

Recruiters see only what you choose to send them. We use trusted service providers (for example, hosting and email delivery) under contracts that limit them to processing data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal data, and listings providers receive nothing about you.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal, security, or accounting obligations.

How we protect it

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and, if a breach affecting your data occurs, we will act and notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, download, or erase your data, and withdraw consent - all from Settings. You may also nominate someone to exercise your rights if you're unable to. We respond within the timelines set by the DPDP Act.

Children

Redrob is for adults seeking work and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we will remove it.

Grievances

If you have a privacy concern, contact our India-based Grievance Officer (details in Settings); we aim to resolve issues within the timelines the law sets. If you're not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, so you can review them and adjust your choices.
